The world’s best Rocket League players will descend on Birmingham for the RLCS Birmingham Major at the bp pulse LIVE from 29 - 30 March.
Bringing together the top 16 Rocket League teams from around the globe, the RLCS Major will mark the first major tournament of the RLCS season. Competitors will battle for the prestigious title and a lion’s share of the $351,000 prize pool, setting the stage for an action-packed weekend of elite esports competition.
Confirmed teams for the RLCS Birmingham Major:
Homegrown heroes Jack "ApparentlyJack" Benton (Dignitas), Archie "Archie" Pickthall and Joe "Joyo" Young (Geekay Esports) and Finlay "rise." Ferguson (Twisted Minds) have all secured their place in Birmingham and will be hoping to lift the trophy in front of a home crowd on the last weekend of March.
Following a landmark year for UK esports in 2024, the RLCS Birmingham Major is one of five premier esports events during the 18-month period to take place in the United Kingdom in 2024/25. The second event taking place in 2025 is the BLAST Premier London Open, which will take place at OVO Arena Wembley from September 5-7, bringing top-tier Counter-Strike competition back to the capital for a second year running.
The UK’s growing prominence as a global esports hub has been further bolstered by a strategic partnership between BLAST and Live Nation, one of the world’s leading live entertainment companies. This collaboration aims to elevate the esports fan experience by combining world-class competitive gaming with best-in-class live event production.
The RLCS Birmingham Major is being delivered in collaboration with Solihull Council, the British Esports Federation, NEC Group, West Midlands Growth Company, and the University of Warwick.
Additionally, the event is receiving funding support from the West Midlands Combined Authority and the UK Government, through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund. This investment is designed to drive trade and tourism, generate economic impact, and bring vital footfall to local businesses in the region.
